Do you think Kairi...*spoilers!*

I had a really random thought pop into my head just now and I decided to ask what you guys think/know about the topic. *possible spoilers for those who never finished the game or played it!!*

In the very beginning of the game on Destiny Islands, the following conversation takes place between Sora and Kairi:

Sora: Say, Kairi? What was your home town like? You know, where you grew up?
Kairi: I've told you before: I don't remember.
Sora: Nothing at all?
Kairi: Nothing.
Sora: Do you ever wanna go back?
Kairi: Hmm...well, I'm happy here.
Sora: Really...
Kairi: But you know...I wouldn't mind to go and see it.
Sora: I'd like to see it to. Along with any other worlds out there. I wanna see 'em all!

okay, you get the picture. Well as we all basically know, Kairi does end up back in her home world of Hollow Bastion. Do you guys think that she ever really knew that Hollow Bastion was her home world?

Think about it. She doesn't remember anything from her childhood or anything about Hollow Bastion/Radiant Gardens. She gave no indication (that we've seen) that she recognized the place or that she even knew where she was. I don't recall a conversation to her with anyone explaining that she was in her home world at all. So do you guys think she had any clue that she was ever home??

Post your thoughts/opinions/speculations/answers etc etc. but don't disrespect anyone! go go go!!! haha

Yes her grandmother told her, but Kairi still didn't remember anything about her home land/town. She just forgot because she never remembered.

I always thought that she forgot b/c she was small when HB was destroyed. but you could be onto something, Kairi that AtW could take some part in that.

Well this is what happened.

Sora Says,

Nine years before the events of the first Kingdom Hearts, Kairi appeared off the coast of the Destiny Islands during a meteor shower. Sora, then five years old, carefully approaches her and asks, "Who are you? Where did you come from?"
Sometime later, Sora and Riku were in the Secret Cave and talking about "the new girl at the mayor's house". This provides the player a kind of insight into her origins: Kairi is not a native of the Destiny Islands, and was adopted by their mayor.


So I think she may have forgotten her Island by just popping up to DI without anyone to help her remember.

This looks like Wikipedia Sora. But if anything I agree with Sora. She really never had anyone to help her remember the situation. Kairi only remembers showing up to DI because she was soo young at the time.

When it doubt, wikipedia is necessary. Right, because Kairi never remembered anything from the geeko about her homeland sadly. I don't think she ever revisit there once in the KH series.

Pretty much. :o I was thinking that Kairi had altimeters because when she appeared on the island, her grandmother wasn't with her, and when Riku asked where she was from, she couldn't tell him, because she didn't remember, or she just had forgotten. DX *cries*
