It most likely symbolizes an "I survived"-call of Ven's maimed heart, the same symbolism is used again in the beginning of Final Episode when Aqua carries him on her back. Ventus' heart has been shattered again after the X-blade was destroyed, but he summons his Keyblade again to open a door to Light in order to show Aqua where he would like to rest.
It's a visual cue that Ventus isn't "finished" and still has the will to continue on.

To add to that, you could interpret it as a more literal symbolization of the light within Ven refusing to be extinguished. Or, the light that pierces the dark clouds.

As for a more story-related reason, well...Something as vague as that scene could probably only be clarified by Nomura. For all we know, Ven could've established a stronger bond with the Realm or Light or some shit.

Oh of course. I breifly forgot that moment in fe. It should've been easy for me to interpret.

Basically it means 'Symbolizing the connection of both hearts.'
