Nomura stated that Kingdom Hearts originated from Disney, the idea of Kingdom Hearts came from Final Fantasy but never was influenced by it.

I believe it was suppose to be it's own roleplay game but the idea probably swamped up from Final Fantasy making a new sag video console.
