Because Kingdom Hearts is such a big hit. Square Enix will definately make more Kingdom Hearts games to come. Like KH3, there will definitely be a 3rd one.Square Enix also has in mind that: Kingdom Hearts is not their only game and will have to focus on other games for a little while.

I 100% agree to this, not only if kingdom hearts fail, they'll have other games to work on as well. I think KH3 is already in progress. Didn't Nomura announce it somewhere that kh3project is fully in control? DX;

DENIED RUMORS
As hinted by Nomura, the story WILL NOT revolve around Sora, as he wants to leave Sora ‘on a break’ for now.
THERE HAS BEEN NO CONFIRMED BOX ART. The box art you see online bearing the name “Kingdom Hearts III” is not the real box art, as there are several flaws - there is no subtitle for Kingdom Hearts III and the side of the box actually has “Kingdom Hearts II” as it’s logo.
The next game will not be titled Kingdom Hearts 3.
The next game will not be on the Playstation 2, as Nomura has stated his last game for the PS2 was Final Mix +.

I believe KH3 is being made at this very second. Thus I'm not sure which console it'll be on, but my bets are with the PS3 mainly because Kingdom Hearts has always been on that console, and the controls can be the same.

Yes, definitely on ps3. it would be pretty epic if it was on wii though.
lol, i found this thing that tells you how to play kh with a wii remote, but i have no idea if it works or not, since i have no knowledge of that stuff

ugh, yea kingdom hearts wont do good on wii because it wouldn't be best seller in all times.

what are you all hoping for kh3 release? im hoping that we can play with atleast villians as well, like a side story.

I'm hoping for new worlds, plus some returns to the other ones. it would be nice to have a change from some of the worlds like Olympus Colliseum... I don't see anything else they can do with that.

I'm hoping Finding Nemo or Cars are into play in kingdom hearts 3, or the Princess and the frog as well.

The Hunchback of Notre Damn
The Incredibles
Toy Story

and returning worlds such as Destiny Islands and Radiant Garden

Those rumors were for KH2, and got turned down, so they are just bumped rumors basically, putting the to KH3. Around before KH2 came out, those EXACT worlds were rumored. Just fans wishing and hoping.

Bumping this because I recently saw a topic stating that there will be a KHIII but it's not in development yet and most likely it'll be out after 2012. Anyone thinking Nomura is having a backup plan or what console it'll be on?

I've heard from the Wikis that it will be coming into production like you said, and it is possible it will be in the Next Generation Consoles, i.e, PS4, WiiU, that new PSP, etc.

It will begin development after, i think it was called 'Vs XIII', is completed.

I'm 100% positive that it will be on the Wii, even though I don't want it to be one that console, but it's possible that the game might be in 3D like drop of a distance. Which is pretty cool.
